Description
The Truman Show (1998), directed by Peter Weir and starring Jim Carrey, is a satirical drama about a man whose entire life has been broadcast as a reality TV show without his knowledge. Truman Burbank, the unsuspecting protagonist, lives in a meticulously constructed town called Seahaven, where everyone around himfriends, family, even strangersare actors, and every moment is controlled by a god-like director named Christof. As Truman begins to notice cracks in his world, he embarks on a journey to uncover the truth and reclaim his autonomy. The film is both a psychological drama and a critique of media manipulation, surveillance, and the illusion of free will, and remains one of the most prescient films of the late 20th century.
