STAR BAND DE DAKAR Star Band Of Dakar (Rare 1975 French 6-track vinyl LP with yellow labels, front laminated picture sleeve. One of the pioneering bands in African/Senaglese music, formed in 1960 with many musicians passing through the ranks [Amara Toure, Youssou N’Dour]. Although not credited on the sleeve this album is often referred to as Volume 2 [twelve volumes in total], it’s a wonderful listen and is noted for its mix of Cuban rhythms with Senegalese mbalax guitars and sabardrums. The sleeve is Excellent [a few spots of discolouration the reverse], the vinyl has a few faint hairlines not affecting play and also grades Excellent IK3021)
