Songs Of A Lost World marks The Cure’s long-awaited return with their 14th studioalbum and first full-length release in 16 years. Measured, heavy with atmosphere, and unapologetically patient, the album finds Robert Smith revisiting the band’s core emotional language – slow-burn tension and stark melodies. Mastered by Miles Showell, the record leans into space and dynamic contrast, allowing each piece to unfold with deliberate weight, from the stark opening of “Alone” through to the closing gravity of “Endsong.” The visual presentation is equally considered: Robert Smith devised the sleeve concept, with long-time collaborator Andy Vella handling the art and design.
